About Us
The Mauritius Council of Registered Librarians (MCRL) is a corporate body operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Heritage. It was set up in October 2002 as per the provisions of the Mauritius Council of Registered Librarians Act 2000.
The Mauritius Council of Registered Librarians play an important role in the promotion of librarianship as a profession vital to an informed and knowledgeable society. The MCRL also shows that if the library profession is to grow and thrive as a true profession, demonstrating not only typical practice, but also considered scholarly approaches to issues.
